Display


The Display tab offers various settings to configure the map display:

Central Meridian – This slider sets the central longitude of the map.

Show Flex Projection – A toggle that lets you show and hide the Flex projection that you are currently working on.

Show Second Projection – A toggle that lets you display a second projection as a background template. Pick the second projection you want from the popup list. Additional options let you adjust the width and height of the second projection to match the size of the Flex projection.

Graticule – Choose to show and hide the graticule and select the graticlue density. The default graticule interval is 30 degrees.

Tissot's Indicatrixes – A toggle to show and hide ellipses that indicate distortion patterns of the projection. Additional options let you control the density and size of Tissot's Indicatrixes that appear on the map.

Isolines of Areal Distortion – A toggle to display and hide isolines of areal distortion. Lines on the map connect points that have the same amount of areal distortion. The Equidistance popup menu lets you set the isoline interval.

Isolines of Maximum Angular Distortion – A toggle to display and hide isolines of angular distortion. Lines on the map connect points that have the same amount of angular distortion. The Equidistance popup menu lets you set the isoline interval.

Area Accepted by Q – A toggle to display and hide the area with an acceptable Q index, yet another method of measuring projection distortion. Clicking the Set Q... button opens a dialog for selecting the Q index parameters.

In the Preferences dialog, you can change the color of the Flex projection, second projection, isolines, or background color of the map window.
